AG Service Technician
Located in Circleville, OH, this position reports to the Service Manager. The candidate’s primary responsibilities will be to independently perform basic and complex diagnostic, service repair, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer‑owned agricultural equipment.
Technicians need mechanical skills and a desire to expand those skills. A “be‑of‑service” attitude is essential in dealing with customers because customer satisfaction is vital to the growth of the service department.
Principal Responsibilities
Perform repair and maintenance work on equipment according to time schedules assigned by the service manager.
Make recommendations of additional needed work to the service manager and ensure the customer is notified.
Confirm that work assignments are correct; seek clarification from the service manager if questions arise.
Maintain tools and company equipment; notify service managers if tools need replacement.
Observe all safety rules and consistently work in a safe manner—report any injuries immediately to the service manager.
Ensure that the work area is clean and that you present yourself in a professional manner.
Maintain and respect the cleanliness of the customer’s equipment.
Work as a team with the parts department and communicate parts needed.
Notify the service manager of expected delays or required parts orders.
Seek other opportunities when temporarily unable to finish a job.
Demonstrate teamwork to co‑workers and fellow employees as needed.
Account for all time and material used.
Maintain a consistent attendance record with daily clock‑in/out.
Complete and submit all daily documentation to the service manager in a timely manner.
Consistently strive to improve billable‑hour percentage to meet or exceed quota.
Bring value to the company by seeking cost‑reduction or revenue‑increase opportunities and reporting observations.
Immediately report any malfunctions or defects to the service manager.
Pay attention to repeat repairs to correct the problem and avoid future re‑do’s.
Maintain education on product lines and stay abreast of changes.
Maintain appropriate licenses and certifications.
Diagnose and repair all AFS equipment (Monitors, Nav, Auto‑Steer, etc.).
Perform other duties as may be assigned by the service manager.
Additional Responsibilities
Transport equipment or parts as needed; load and secure carefully to prevent damage.
Perform equipment checks before and after transport to avoid damage claims and give customer basic operation instructions.
Conduct setup or pre‑delivery inspections on new or used equipment as prescribed by manufacturer’s manuals.
Handle all field service assignments promptly and efficiently with a minimum of non‑billable comebacks.

Work is performed in an office, maintenance shop, and outdoor environment.
Requires regular active communication with customers and coworkers.
Involves computer data entry and retrieval.
Activities include sitting, standing, climbing, lifting, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, speaking, listening, and other motor coordination tasks.
