AG Service Technician Location: Terre Haute, IN. The Service Technician will independently perform diagnostic, repair and maintenance work on customer or dealer‑owned agricultural equipment. The position reports to the Service Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

Perform repair and maintenance work on equipment according to time schedules assigned by the Service Manager.

Make recommendations of additional needed work and ensure the customer is notified.

Confirm correct work assignment and seek clarification from the Service Manager when needed.

Maintain tools and company equipment, notifying the Service Manager if tools need replacement.

Observe all safety rules and consistently work in a safe manner—report any injuries immediately to the Service Manager.

Keep the work area clean and present yourself professionally.

Maintain cleanliness of the customer’s equipment.

Work as a team with the parts department and communicate parts needed.

Notify the Service Manager if delays are expected or if a part needs ordering.

Seek other opportunities when temporarily unable to finish the job.

Demonstrate teamwork to co‑workers and fellow employees as needed.

Account for all time and material used.

Maintain a consistent attendance record by clocking in and out daily, showing job tickets, personal/vacation/sick time, etc.

Complete and submit all daily documentation to the Service Manager promptly.

Consistently strive to improve the percentage of billable hours to meet or exceed quota.

Add value to the company by seeking areas of cost reductions or revenue increases and reporting observations to the Service Manager.

Immediately report any malfunction or defect to the Service Manager.

Pay attention to repeat repairs, so the problem is corrected and future re‑does are avoided.

Maintain education on the product lines and stay abreast of any changes.

Maintain appropriate licenses and certifications.

Diagnose and repair all AFS equipment (Monitors, Nav, autosteer, etc.).

Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager.

Additional Responsibilities

Transport equipment or parts as needed, loading and securing carefully to avoid damage.

Perform equipment checks before and after transport to avoid transport‑damage claims and provide customer instructions for basic operation.

Perform set‑up or pre‑delivery inspections on new or used equipment as prescribed by the manufacturer’s manual.

Perform all field service assignments promptly and efficiently with a minimum of non‑billable comebacks.

Environmental Factors / Physical Demands

Work is performed in an office, maintenance shop, and outdoor environment, requiring active customer and employee communication and computer use.

May involve sitting, standing, climbing, lifting, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, speaking, listening, and motor coordination.

General

The service technician must be thoroughly familiar with the dealer’s line of equipment and possess the detailed knowledge required for proper repairs.

Must be a natural mechanical ability and familiar with testing equipment, diagnostic procedures, and maintaining proficiency.

Comfortable with the physical demands listed under Environmental Factors.
