Duties and Responsibilities: Perform precision machining, repair, and refurbishment of rolling-element and plain bearings, including housings, sleeves, races, and related components.
Manufacture new bearing components according to engineering drawings, specifications, sketches, and verbal instructions with limited supervision.
Inspect bearing components to ensure dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and tolerances, maintaining minimal rework, scrap, or rejection rates.
Coordinate with the Lead Man to ensure special bearing repair requirements—such as fits, clearances, preload, and material specifications—are correctly met.
Disassemble, clean, measure, and reassemble bearing assemblies as required for repair or overhaul work.
Maintain an organized, efficient, and clean machine shop area, with particular attention to contamination control for bearing components.
Work overtime as required to meet customer emergency breakdowns and critical bearing repair timelines.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn advanced bearing machining techniques and complete testing or certifications based on skill level and career advancement goals.
Perform all tasks in accordance with, and actively promote, Fox safety standards within the shop environment.
