ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS
Prepare and operate machines to perform tasks such as cutting, bending and programming using all features of the press brake
Understand specifications of the task at hand, determine which brake dies are used based on the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
Adjust machine settings to adhere to established product specifications and monitor work to ensure the machine is functioning properly
Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
Prepare a test run to check if the machine produces outputs according to specifications
Perform process and maintain tight tolerances and quality requirements
Responsible for set‑up maintenance and operation of equipment in the press brake
Responsible for inspecting the quality of raw materials before fabrication use
Communicate proactively to Production Supervisor‑Metal any issues related to material quality, machine issues or any items negatively impacting product output
Perform routine and minor maintenance activities as needed
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Can translate the requirements of part drawings into measurements for production
Ensures every machine procedure is done in accordance with the strict guidelines of the company
Is mechanically minded and willing to be cross trained in a variety of fabrication functions and operating software
Has experience reading and understanding manufacturing blueprints
Has experience using tools such as calipers, protractors and tape measures to confirm dimensions against drawings
Understands manufacturing tolerances
Has strong problem‑solving skills to know why machines are not at peak performance and can adjust settings to increase output and fix any errors
Ability to apply basic sheet metal forming fundamentals
Understands the relationship between a press brake tool and the bend radius
Follows all company safety protocol especially during equipment operations
Ensures the machine is consistently clean and calibrated
Ability to work in a team environment
Committed to maintaining consistent and on‑time attendance
Ability to retain and apply instructions
Has excellent attention to detail/precision and consistently avoids critical errors with components
Ability to multi‑task with effective time management skills
Ability to communicate in and understand English
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
Strong math skills and the ability to understand and process complex work instructions
AutoCAD and SolidWorks training helpful
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, or crawl
The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
Employee must be able to talk and hear

While performing the duties of this job, an employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.

This is an hourly (non‑exempt) position.
