Job Summary:
Operates computer numerical controlled (CNC) machines such as milling machines, lathes, turning centers and horizontal mills used for the construction of aircraft interior parts (floor fittings, aluminum trims, counter‑tops, aluminium, stainless steel, phenolic parts). This role is within a 1–3–Lead hierarchy and functions as a mid‑level operator. Adheres to company and customer specifications, work instructions, engineering prints and work orders. Documents materials and processes to maintain traceability. Operates CNC machine in a safe manner, including: Loads programs into the CNC machine and executes cutting programs. Cuts raw stock to the approximate size required. Secures and facets raw stock in the machine. Squares material prior to running the program if necessary. Monitors machine operation to ensure proper program performance. Deburs completed parts when time permits. Provides feedback to supervisor and programmer on program and tooling performance. Verifies part accuracy using calipers, micrometers and other metrology equipment, and reports suspect parts to supervisor. Ensures machine is in proper working order and reports issues promptly. Maintains a clean machine area and keeps the workspace tidy. Maintains coolant, including removal, dilution, cleaning and recharging as necessary. General notes: Handles raw material and parts carefully to preserve quality. Protects and maintains confidentiality of all company products. Adapts to changing business conditions and performs additional tasks as needed. Tasks may vary slightly depending on the products produced. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). 4–5 years of experience as a CNC operator. Basic operation of CNC machines and familiarity with G and M code. Solid working knowledge of machining processes and tooling. Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints. Excellent hand/eye coordination and safety awareness. Self‑inspection ability and ability to correct discrepancies promptly. Experience with aerospace manufacturing (preferred). English proficiency (reading and writing). Additional preferred skills (not required):
Ability to provide peer review and oversight to junior CNC operators. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Seniority level
