Position Overview The Machine Operator uses fabricating machines such as CNC machines, saws, and rollers to produce finished parts. Primary responsibility is operating laser and plasma tables on the shop floor.
Essential Job Functions
Operate milling, drilling, saw, and CNC flat plate machines.
Source or identify material required for work orders.
Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions.
Set stops or guides to specified lengths using scale, rule or template.
Position workpieces against stops or align layout marks with die or blade.
Activate machines by pressing buttons or depressing pedals.
Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or malfunctions.
Measure workpiece dimensions for accuracy of machine operations.
Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust or scale from workpieces.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance on machines as required.
Comply with company safety regulations, mission, and core values.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
1–4 years of laser and/or plasma table experience preferred.
High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to read micrometers and calipers.
Capacity to stand, bend, and crouch for a 10‑hour shift.
Capacity to lift up to 75 lbs.
High accuracy and attention to detail required.
Ability to operate material handlers such as a forklift.
