Machinist – Asphalt Equipment Manufacturer

Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Day Shift (Overtime as needed)
Job Description We are seeking an experienced Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This role involves machining precision metal components used in asphalt production and material‑handling equipment. The ideal candidate has experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment and can read blueprints, hold tight tolerances, and work independently.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, drills, and other various fabrication equipment
Machine steel and alloy components to print specifications
Manufacture custom and replacement parts for asphalt plant equipment
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and tolerances
Measure parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools
Perform basic machine maintenance and tooling changes
Troubleshoot machining issues and adjustment as needed
Work closely with welders, fitters, and engineering staff
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area
Perform any other duties as assigned from Leadership
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required (trade school preferred)
3+ years of machinist experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Strong blueprint reading and measuring skills
Experience machining carbon steel and stainless steel
Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines
Preferred Experience
Manual machining experience
Large or heavy‑part machining
Experience in heavy equipment, asphalt, or industrial manufacturing
Physical Requirements
Routinely lift up to 50 lbs
Stand for extended periods
Comfortable working in an industrial shop environment
