We are seeking a skilled Machinist to perform repairs and fabrications of components for a variety of mechanical systems including AC/DC motors, generators, pumps, gearboxes, turbines, and more. The ideal candidate will use manual machinery, such as lathes, mills, shapers, drill presses, grinders, and will also be involved in electroplating processes. This position requires a strong knowledge of machine procedures, mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, and layout, with a focus on precision and quality. This is a non-CNC position. Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a machinist Key Responsibilities

Machining:

Perform repairs and fabrication of components for motors, generators, pumps, turbines, and gearboxes using manual lathes, mills, shapers, drill presses, and grinders. Electroplating:

Apply electroplating processes as required to enhance component durability and functionality. Blueprints & Layouts:

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining procedures, dimensions, tolerance, and material requirements. Component Repair:

Diagnose issues with damaged or worn components and determine the most effective method of repair or fabrication. Precision Measurement:

Utilize precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure components meet exact specifications and tolerances. Material Handling:

Select appropriate materials for fabrication, taking into consideration their properties and suitability for the application. Problem Solving:

Troubleshoot mechanical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner. Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others. Maintenance:

Maintain equipment and machinery in optimal working condition, performing routine inspections and basic maintenance as needed. Requirements

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience as a machinist, with proficiency in using manual lathes, mills, shapers, drill presses, grinders, and electroplating. Knowledge:

Solid understanding of machining procedures, mechanics, mathematics, and metal properties. Technical Skills:

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Strong attention to detail and precision. Problem-Solving:

Ability to analyze and troubleshoot mechanical problems efficiently. Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift heavy components and stand for extended periods. Capable of using hand tools and operating manual machinery. Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machining or related field is a plus. Work Ethic:

Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with electroplating. Familiarity with repair of AC/DC motors, generators, pumps, and turbines. Knowledge of safety protocols related to machining and electroplating. Relocation Assistance Available. License Required: No EEO Statement
