JOB FUNCTION:
Responsible for development of new production processes and evaluating existing processes to increase stamping and bending efficiencies. For new production processes, the Senior Process Technician will complete feasibility studies, assess designs to determine stamping and bending tooling, processes, and integration of efficiencies for increased profit margins. For the evaluation of existing process, the Senior Process Technician supports all areas of production through the troubleshooting process should machines not be producing at full capacity, educate and influence machine operators and supervisors on troubleshooting methodology and implementation of resolution, and performance of mechatronics (hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical) process solutions. The Senior Process Technician will lead teams throughout Scherdel North America to ensure transfer of technical knowledge and development of best practice standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Lead and execute the transfer technology to/from Germany, Mexico, and other Scherdel facility locations
Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving rates, efficiencies, yields, and changeovers
Work with equipment designers and manufacturing officers to develop cost-effective and working production process
Introduces new processes and technologies throughout Scherdel North America
Provides technical support for programming and troubleshooting of programmable logic controls (PLC's)
Supports the increase of automation and integration for vision systems within the technical processes and production
Support the composition of process documentation and operating manuals
Evaluate and improve on processes in manufacturing systems
Develop, configure, and optimize innovative solutions and industrial processes from inception through to start up and certification
Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards
Collect, prepare, record, and transcribe data and present results in professional reports
Work with and coordinate activities with colleagues located in Germany, Mexico, and other locations.
Advise on corrective actions
Ensure projects are completed effectively and on time
Research and present new manufacturing technology to management for purchase
Works according to Scherdel's quality and environmental system requirements, as well as customer quality requirements.
FUNCTION REQUIREMENTS: Education/Experience: 10+ years experience in the automotive spring industry, required
Completion of apprenticeship OR on-the-job training and compensatory technical college education, required
Bi-lingual (English and German), required Experience leading teams, required
Skills:
Ability to complete troubleshooting tasks independently
Must be comfortable with integrating new technology into an existing business environment
Must work well individually, as well as in a team environment
Self-directed with excelled decision making skills

Position Environment:
Ability to bend twist and stand for periods up to 8‑12 hours

Daily use of technologies included long periods of time using computer, technical software, and machine programming
