LHH is helping a large Texas law firm seek a Legal Assistant to support their Banking and Finance team in the Houston/Galleria office. Transactional legal experience is required and Banking and Finance experience is strongly preferred.

Salary ranges from $65,000 - $90,000 DOE

Parking paid by the firm

Discretionary year-end bonus based on tenure

Employee-only premiums for medical insurance fully paid by the firm

Position Overview

Supports Banking and Finance Team

Focused on administrative legal support with a heavy emphasis on:

Transactional document handling

IT-related coordination within the finance group

Directly supports 4 attorneys

Candidate Profile

Transactional legal experience is required

Banking and Finance experience is strongly preferred

Document management

Multi-attorney support

Professional, team-oriented, capable of supporting individual assignments and firmwide requests

Team & Structure

Directly supports 4 individuals

Works within a pod system

Assigned to a primary group of attorneys

Supports other attorneys firmwide through a ticketing system (ARC) for overflow tasks

Internal promotion opportunity into a paralegal position

JOB REQUIREMENTS

5+ years of on-the-job experience necessary to perform complex administrative duties in a professional setting

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Knowledge of legal billing software (preferably Aderant)

Typing speed of 70 WPM

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Attention to detail with superior proofreading abilities

Working knowledge of creating and editing legal documents

Strong understanding of county and state court systems

Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Organize and maintain correspondence, documents, and computer-based files

Provide telephone coverage for the team and deliver messages

Teleconference and arrange conference calls

Arrange appointments, coordinate meetings, make travel arrangements (including flight/hotel reservations), and submit reimbursement requests

Work with a variety of assigned attorneys and practice group areas as needed

Work on complex organizational charts

Draft legal documents

Assist with preparation of private offering documents

Arrange attendance for CLE courses and track attorney CLE hours

Review, correct, and disburse pre-bills and invoices
