Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, motivated, and adaptable
Generalist Paralegal
to support attorneys across multiple practice areas. This role will assist with substantive legal tasks, client communications, litigation support, document preparation, and administrative functions. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is eager to contribute to a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities Legal Support
Prepare, review, and organize legal documents including pleadings, motions, contracts, discovery requests, and correspondence across practice areas such as business transactions, litigation, real estate, probate/estate matters, regulatory compliance, labor and employment, and more.
Conduct legal research and draft summaries to support case strategy and attorney preparation.
Assist attorneys with case management, calendar deadlines, and court filings.
Client & Case Coordination
Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and vendors via phone, email, and written correspondence.
Coordinate client intake, document collection, case updates, and scheduling.
Litigation & Transaction Support
Organize and manage case files, exhibits, discovery materials, and reference databases.
Assist with trial preparation, mediation sessions, and transactional closings as needed.
Administrative Duties
Maintain calendars for deadlines, hearings, meetings, and deadlines.
Manage invoicing, billing entries, time tracking, docketing, and task lists.
Provide general administrative support including copying, scanning, mail processing, and file maintenance.
Qualifications Required
Paralegal certificate, Associate’s degree, or equivalent legal experience.
Experience supporting multiple attorneys and handling diverse legal matters.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, NuLaw, and document management tools.
Preferred
Previous experience with litigation support, business law, real estate, probate/estate, or employment matters.
Familiarity with Ohio court procedures and filing systems.
