Qualified candidates will have the following: organizational skills, the ability to proactively manage deadlines, critical thinking skills, the ability to work independently and on a team, hybrid work competency, writing skills, the ability to communicate professionally, and the ability to utilize technology resources to support clients and attorneys.
The hours of the position are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a comprehensive benefits package, including major medical plans, a 401(k) plan, and paid parking.
Responsibilities
Reviews documents provided by clients or other parties at the request of asbestos attorneys
Prepares, organizes, and maintains files
Assists attorneys with preparation for trials, hearings, closings, and other matters
Other tasks as requested by the attorney and/or supervisor
Must maintain confidentiality of client matters
Education and Experience Requirements
Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
A minimum of five years of experience and a Paralegal certificate are preferred
Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements
Knowledge of the principles, methods, and materials
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Computer Programs (particularly Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel) and the Internet
Organizational, time management, and prioritization skills are required
Knowledge of general office procedures is required; knowledge of law firm office procedures is preferred
Ability to deal tactfully, effectively, and professionally with staff, attorneys, court officials, other government officials, and the general public is required
