Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for an EDM Machinist role in Phoenix, AZ.
Our client is a well-established industry leader known for innovation and a commitment to delivering the highest-quality manufactured products. With a focus on continuous improvement, they pride themselves on maintaining excellence at every stage of their machining and precision manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate, set up, and maintain EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment, including wire EDM, sinker EDM, or drill EDM machines.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and part specifications to produce highly precise components.
Perform accurate in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and other precision measurement tools.
Monitor machine performance, adjust parameters, and ensure optimal cutting conditions.
Troubleshoot machining challenges, electrode wear, and EDM programming issues to minimize downtime.
Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, tool usage, and inspection results.
Follow all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and supervisors to meet production goals and ensure part quality.
Assist with routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of EDM equipment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machining or manufacturing preferred.
2+ years of experience operating EDM equipment (wire, sinker, or both).
Strong understanding of EDM processes, tooling, electrodes, and machine controls.
Ability to interpret blueprints, GD&T symbols, and precision specifications.
Proficiency with precision measurement instruments and inspection procedures.
Excellent mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration abilities.
Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods.
Familiarity with CNC or CAM programming is a plus.
