About Proficient Auto Logistics We are a leading specialized freight company focused on auto transportation and logistics services. Job Summary The Mobile Diesel Mechanic is a skilled technician who reports to the Wentzville, MO area, but travels to different locations to perform maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair diesel‑powered vehicles. Essentially providing on‑site service by traveling to our drivers instead of working in a stationary shop.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Preventative maintenance
Troubleshooting engine problems
Component repair and replacement
Roadside assistance
Ensuring vehicles comply with DOT regulations by completing DOT inspections
Maintaining the service truck
Customer, vendor and service provider interaction
Requirements
Valid driver’s license and Class A CDL required
Welding/Fabrication experience preferred
ASE certification preferred
Extensive understanding of diesel engine mechanics, including fuel systems, electrical systems, hydraulics and transmission operations
Ability to use diagnostic tools to accurately pinpoint mechanical issues
Familiarity with a wide range of hand tools and power tools needed for diesel repairs
Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective repair solutions
Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift heavy components and perform physically demanding tasks
Computer skills necessary to access repair manuals, parts catalogs and documentation
Ability to service an area of up to 150 miles
