We provide on‑site mobile maintenance and repair services nationwide for light, medium, and heavy‑duty trucks and trailers.
The Sr. Mobile Diesel Mechanic will perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light and advanced repairs, diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. He is the lead on jobsites for customers and technicians and must comply with all company policies and performance metrics.
Key Duties
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (“PM”), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
Perform minor adjustment and repairs on various truck equipment (electronics, brakes, cooling, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc.).
Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company‑issued service truck.
Maintain and operate the company‑issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.
Provide client service by assessing needs, delivering information, and resolving issues.
Document work in Repair Orders, upload pictures, and complete DOT forms promptly.
Stay within or close to standard repair times and manage a highly independent schedule.
Operate in compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other safety and environmental policies.
Requirements
High School Diploma/GED and at least 3 years of relevant experience (alternative: any higher degree or 5+ years of experience).
At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
Supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform the job.
OEM training and certifications preferred.
Completion of all company‑required training.
Ability to pass DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical.
Valid DOT medical card with at least 4 months remaining, or a DOT physical if less than 4 months.
Minimum age 21; valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a Driver Qualification File.
Certifications Required or obtained within 18 months:
ASE T8 (PMI) certification
ASE 608/609 certification
Preferred:
ASE T2 (Diesel Engines)
ASE T3 (Drivetrain)
ASE T4 (Brakes)
ASE T5 (Suspension)
ASE T6 (Electrical & Electronic Systems)
ASE T7 (HVAC)
ASE A8 (Engine Performance)
ASE L1 (Advanced Engine Performance Specialist)
ASE L2 (Electronic Diesel Engine Diagnosis Specialist)
Skills & Abilities
