Cox Automotive Mobility Fleet Services (CAMFS) is headquartered in Indianapolis and is one of the largest fleet maintenance companies in the United States.

CAMFS provides on‑site mobile maintenance and repair services for light, medium, and heavy‑duty trucks and trailers, as well as accident repair, painting, refurbishment, and heavy mechanical repair at its nationwide service centers.

The company is supported by a 24/7 in‑house call center that offers scheduled maintenance and emergency service anywhere, anytime.

Program Overview CAMFS is launching a new paid educational program called the

FleeTec Academy .

The Academy is designed to train entry‑level candidates to become full‑time Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technicians.

The program has two main phases:

Paid classroom training:

4 consecutive weeks of full‑time schooling at the Academy campus.

All travel expenses, hotel accommodation, a weekly meal stipend and a regular paycheck are paid during this period.

Hands‑on training:

Upon completion of the classroom phase, candidates are paired with a Lead Technician for on‑the‑job training and are offered a full‑time Mobile Diesel Mechanic position in their local market.

After the initial 4‑week program, candidates may return for additional classroom study to further develop their skills and progress in the multi‑year career path.

The Academy is structured so that each participant keeps their comprehensive toolbox after graduation.

Pay & Compensation

$12.99 per hour (or state minimum wage, whichever is higher) + $250 per week stipend (taxed) during the 4‑week classroom period.

$19 per hour for the next 6 weeks.

Second 4‑week class in Indianapolis at $19 per hour + $250 per week stipend.

+ $1 per hour bonus upon graduation.

Hourly base pay ranges from $14.71 to $22.02 per hour depending on location and candidate qualifications.

Possible additional compensation includes commissions and incentive programs.

Responsibilities As a Mobile Diesel Mechanic, you will perform preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations, ensuring fleet vehicles operate efficiently and reliably.

Duties include diagnosing mechanical issues, repairing or replacing components, performing routine inspections, and maintaining accurate service records.

Qualifications

Desire to pursue a career as a Diesel & Trailer Technician in a mobile repair environment.

Willingness and ability to study hard and complete the 4‑week classroom program.

Commitment to attend the Academy for four weeks away from home.

Maturity and focus suitable for a professional training environment.

Technical aptitude and passion for vehicle repair.

Ability to operate an iPad.

High‑school diploma or equivalent (preferred, not required).

Successful completion of background checks, driving record checks, pre‑employment drug testing, and a physical examination.

Compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and FMCSA requirements, including a DOT physical or valid DOT medical card with at least four months of validity.

Minimum age of 21 years and a valid state driver’s license.

A 3‑year motor vehicle record (MVR) review is required.

Veterans and active‑military personnel are encouraged to apply if separation has recently occurred.
