Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machinery (lathes, mills, grinders) according to specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine production requirements.
Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality.
Perform in-process and final inspection of machined parts using precision measuring instruments.
Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines and work area.
Adjust machine controls and tool offsets to maintain part accuracy and quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve basic machine alarms or production issues.
Recommended Qualifications
Proficiency in operating and setting up CNC mills and/or lathes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code/M-code.
Strong understanding and application of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges).
Solid foundational knowledge of shop math, including trigonometry and geometry.
Proven experience with various tooling, inserts, and fixture setups.
Bonus Qualifications
Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for program creation or modification.
Experience with advanced metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators).
Basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting capabilities.
Ability to manually edit and optimize G-code programs.
