Job Title General Maintenance Worker
Summary A General Maintenance Worker performs maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings in such trades at painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings
Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
Uses minor plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceiling.
Repairs or replaces sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
Paints structures and equipment.
Replaces or repairs concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
Replaces damaged paneling and floor tiles.
Hangs doors, installs door locks, and replaces broken window panes.
Performs general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
Inspect buildings and equipment for needed maintenance or repairs.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Must be able to provide own hand tools
EPA certification Type I, II or III required.
US Citenhenship required
Minimum 10 years practical experience in the field
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Computer skills required: Basic computer skills
Mechanical Aptitude
Applied analytical skills to recognize when a specialized trade is needed for various tasks
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Strong troubleshooting abilities
Physical Demand and Work Environment

Occasionally required to sit
Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
Continually required to talk or hear

Occasionally around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals
Occasionally exposure to outside weather conditions
