Electrician I, Street Lighting (Finance)

TransCore (TCI), a subsidiary of St Engineering, is seeking a full-time Street Lighting Electrician to join our team in Tampa, Florida. Job Summary

This position involves field support and installation or repair in street lighting, electrical systems, data and fiber optic cable installation, conduit and pull box installation, and pole and foundation installation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in installation and wiring of transformers, troubleshooting, pulling cable, construction work, and use of power tools and bucket trucks. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic lighting components. Install and mount lighting controls, devices, sensors, and components. Test and troubleshoot lighting systems, check continuity of circuits and fixtures using testing devices. Install pull boxes, conduit, street lighting poles, and foundations. Ensure electrical compatibility and safety of equipment; detect hazards and recommend adjustments, relocation, or replacement. Raise, lower, or position equipment, tools, and materials using hoists, hand lines, or block and tackle. Complete daily reports, logs, and perform shift‑to‑shift communications per established policies. Collaborate with technical team on advanced and intermittent technical issues. Produce work that meets or exceeds National Electric Code. Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 21 years of age. Valid driver’s license; CDL Class B preferred. Success in obtaining a Florida Statewide Law Enforcement Radio Systems (SLERS) security clearance. Comfortable operating 40–80 ft. bucket trucks. Ability to work at heights up to 80 ft. High mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity. Follow supervisor instructions; work independently or as part of a team. Organizational and analytical skills; stamina for occasional heavy lifting. Pass Basic Skills Test, Multi‑Craft Aptitude Test, and Color Identification Test. Education

High school diploma or GED required. Other Requirements

1–2 years of related experience desired. Must stand, sit, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision. Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, and moving traffic. Exposure to high places, fumes, airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. Confined space work acceptable. Available for 8‑hour days, 40‑hour weeks, with overtime and night shifts when needed. Physical Requirements

Stand for long periods, work on ladders and scaffolds. Work may occur in dusty, dirty, hot, or wet conditions, or in confined areas. Potential travel up to 100 miles or more. Strict safety procedures required to avoid electrical shock, falls, and cuts.
