Position Description:

Immediately hiring a Permanent Full‑Time Experienced Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Marietta, Georgia.

Hours & Schedule:

Second Shift 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF

Pay & Bonuses:

Hourly Pay: $34.00 per hour

Certification Bonus up to $700 for new ASE Certifications.

Quarterly Bonus up to $500 every quarter.

Sign On Bonus: $2500 at 30 days and $2500 at 90 days.

Requirements:

Ability to perform all Tier 3 tasks.

Advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance.

Effective interpersonal communication skills.

Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Availability for shift work, weekends, and on‑call duty.

Prefer ASE Certification in PM, Brakes, A/C, electrical, Electronics, or ASE Master Mechanic.

Proficiency in shop computers and diagnostic test equipment.

Minimum tool requirement met.

Vehicle road testing as necessary.

Ability to coach, mentor, influence others.

Additional CDL Requirements:

Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire.

Pass a Ryder drug test.

Pass a DOT physical.

Pass a Ryder road test.

Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.

Responsibilities:

Complete SBTIII training within 180 days.

Complete all OEM online diagnostic scan tool software courses within 365 days.

Complete instructor‑led OEM courses as required.

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties.

Perform standard preventative maintenance and complex repairs with minimal support.

Access and use internal and external maintenance documents.

Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers/software.

Perform remote triage with RCRC and customers to determine best solution to roadside breakdowns.

Perform facility maintenance duties.

Interact with customers/drivers to determine complaints.

Instruct and advise other technicians on maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics.

Coach and mentor other level technicians.

Advise shop management on shop repairs.

Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation.

Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines.

Other support duties as required (e.g., Service Island support).
