1st Shift Mechanical Assembler Badger Meter

Badger Meter is looking for a 1st shift Assembler in our Milwaukee Plant. This person will work in a clean, air‑conditioned facility. We are willing to train for the right person!

Key Responsibilities

Build, assemble, test, injection mould and package a variety of meters or meter‑reading technology products.

Perform a variety of operations such as assembly of meters, leak testing, meter testing, and packaging of meter products while following safety guidelines.

Assemble products following work instructions to ensure the highest quality, meeting company product standards, production goals, and customer specifications.

Set up and operate meter accuracy and leak test equipment to determine product acceptability.

Operate computer to check schedules, obtain part drawings, set up work procedures and update manufacturing status of jobs.

Work from dispatch lists or production schedules to meet required daily output.

Operate plastic injection moulding machines and perform secondary operations such as degating, sprue removal and drilling.

May operate and tend to multiple machines simultaneously.

Check parts visually and with inspection tools, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to ensure parts meet specified quality standards.

Perform part counts and/or scale counts and prepare identification tickets for outgoing materials.

Load, unload and debur parts.

Qualifications

1+ years of experience.

High school degree preferred.

Basic computer skills.

Ability to pass internal forklift and hazmat training if applicable.

Ability to work independently with little supervision.

Maintains open communication and positive working relationships with staff.

Basic math skills.

Ability to read, write and speak English.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment.

Must wear personal protective gear most of the day.

Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.

Requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.

Must stand or walk for prolonged periods.

Must pass an audiogram test.
