POSITION SUMMARY
The Mechanical foreman is responsible for all mechanical and civil work as well as the personnel performing this work on a job site.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead crews in the successful installation of ground mount, canopy, and roof mount racking systems
Coordinate and perform all underground excavation and trenching
Coordinate daily tasks in accordance with schedule and manpower
Create and update project 3-week schedules
Maintain daily reports, including head counts, hours worked by project and task, equipment use, materials received, and daily production
Complete project close-out documents to include QC reports, photos, and safety paperwork.
Monitor crew attendance, performance, and work quality
Supervise and train workers and tradespeople
Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
Optimize work equipment, tools, and methods to improve efficiency
Establishes & maintains production rates for crews to ensure schedules are met
Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget
Report on project progress to the General Superintendent or Assistant Superintendents
Advise the General Superintendent on the hiring and termination of employees
Other responsibilities as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS The work can be physically demanding. It involves frequently working in an outdoor environment in a variety of weather and working conditions. Workers may be subjected to extreme weather conditions and terrain, as well as physical circumstances involving extensive climbing, lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
It requires weekday and possibly weekend work on assigned sites and work supporting those assigned sites. Assigned sites may also require travel, overnight or extended stays. Sites typically are in the Southwestern United States.

Requirements QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Education and Experience
High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade
A minimum of 3 years of mechanical/racking/civil construction supervision/leadership experience
Strong knowledge of excavation and underground utilities
Proven experience as a commercial construction foreman/leader
In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines
Electrical and/or Photovoltaic commercial construction is a plus
Other Competencies and Requirements
Ability to travel a minimum of 75% of the time for both in and out-of-state projects
Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Ability to communicate and report effectively
Aptitude in math
Problem-solving abilities
Good physical condition and stamina
Ability to lift 50 pounds
