A well-established and growing law firm is seeking an
experienced Workers’ Compensation Legal Assistant
to support a
high-volume defense practice . This is a
full-time, in-office position
supporting
three attorneys (two Partners and one Associate) .
Position Overview The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, highly organized legal assistant with
substantial defense-side Workers’ Compensation experience
who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage competing priorities with precision and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive legal support to multiple attorneys in a high-volume Workers’ Compensation defense practice
Manage heavy calendaring, deadlines, and docket control
Draft correspondence, pleadings, and routine filings
Handle ECF, DOAH, and PACER filings
Coordinate with insurance carriers, record retrieval vendors, and third-party portals
Maintain case files, manage discovery, and ensure compliance with carrier guidelines
Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, and vendors
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 consecutive years
as a legal assistant or paralegal in a law firm
Minimum 2 consecutive years
of
Workers’ Compensation defense experience
(required)
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Excellent time-management skills and ability to prioritize competing demands
Proficiency in civil litigation procedures, including deadline management and docketing
Proficient in
Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Experience with
DOAH, ECF filings, and PACER
Familiarity with insurance carrier guidelines and vendor portals
Experience with
Litify and/or Salesforce
is a plus
