Base pay range $35.00/hr - $45.00/hr
An elite global Law Firm that serves leading companies, financial institutions, and governments worldwide in helping clients resolve complex legal challenges is looking for a project-based Legal Practice Assistant for their Houston location. The Legal Assistant will support attorneys by performing a diverse range of administrative tasks with precision and discretion. The position calls for skillful multi-tasking and prioritization of assignments. This role will start off on a long-term temporary basis and demands a high level of organizational skill, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative and legal support to assigned practice groups and other attorney teams as needed.
Plan and coordinate attorneys' schedules, appointments, conferences, and meetings.
Manage complex domestic and international travel arrangements, including preparing business itineraries.
Handle expense reports, phone calls, and incoming correspondence, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
Draft, proofread, and release time sheets, maintain client and matter lists, and complete conflict search reports.
Cultivate positive working relationships and navigate the organization on behalf of lawyer assignments, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a demanding environment, liaising with all levels of staff, attorneys, and clients.
3-5 years of law firm experience with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills, positive initiative-driven approach, and ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Compensation: $35-45/hr.
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
