The College of Fine Arts seeks a Scene Shop Manager for the School of Theatre. This position oversees the process of timely, accurate and high quality delivery of fully executed scenery produced to the high standards of excellence set by the Design, Production and Management Faculty. This position supports approximately nine School of Theatre productions, four Opera Institute productions, the BU Summer Theatre Institute productions and School of Theatre special events including but not limited to the annual Showcase. These productions and events are performed at a wide variety of venues in and out of the Joan & Edgar Booth Theatre and CFA Production Center. This position will provide educational training, supervision and mentorship for Graduate and Undergraduate Design, Production and Management majors, SOT first-year core and non-theatre majors assigned to these shows. The position manages the SOT Scene Shop , determines labor needs, manages student and professional personnel, and provides instruction in construction and technical skills to students. Finally, the Scene Shop Manager is responsible for the scenery supply budgets and manages the procurement, operation and maintenance of all scenery supplies, facilities, materials, equipment and digital resources. As a creative professional, they collaborate with Design, Production and Management faculty, staff, and students in the process of realizing the artistic vision for productions in order to set a high standard of achievement for students.
