Job Overview As an Aeronautical Engineer, Senior you will work spacecraft plume contamination analysis using gas dynamics to model how plumes affect sensitive hardware, preventing mission failure by analyzing molecular transport, creating CFD/DSMC models, possibly selecting materials, and working across teams from design to launch, focusing on rarefied flows and contamination control. In addition you will support hypersonic aerodynamics where you will help develop aerodynamic databases and help define environments associated with thermal and pressure loads across all flight regimes.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Physics, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and/or equivalent education and experience
Performing plume analysis and high altitude DSMC analysis
Performing a variety of aerodynamics analyses related to missile systems with a particular emphasis on hypersonics and hydrodynamics
Creating technical memos
Providing input to data packages to support peer and customer reviews
Presenting analysis results to internal engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel during technical exchange meetings

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedule for this Position:
9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 – $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Pay ranges may vary by region and are guidelines only.
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $98,300 – $170,315. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. This position is incentive plan eligible.
