We are seeking an experienced Accounting Department Manager to oversee all accounting functions for our growing material handling business. This role manages day‑to‑day accounting operations, supervises accounting staff, collaborates with other departments, ensures financial accuracy and compliance, and partners closely with the President on financial performance and system improvements.

Key Responsibilities
Manage all accounting functions including billing, general ledger, job/cost accounting, revenue recognition, payroll, AP, AR, budgeting, inventory, and financial reporting
Supervise, train, evaluate, and develop accounting staff; recruit and hire as needed
Oversee month‑end close and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial statements
Manage job costing, progress payments/WIP and project margin analysis
Maintain AR within industry standards, including credit oversight and collections follow‑up
Review and approve invoices; ensure timely AP and maintain vendor relationships
Manage treasury functions, bank reconciliations, and cash flow
Prepare sales and use tax filings; assist CPA with tax returns and year‑end reporting
Coordinate audits and maintain organized, accessible financial records
Manage payroll processing, commissions, benefit changes, and Simple IRA administration
Utilize and recommend improvements to ERP/accounting system (Oracle NetSuite)
Prepare budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and special financial reports
Provide financial insight and recommendations to the President
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
3–5+ years of accounting experience; contracting/construction experience strongly preferred
3+ years supervisory or management experience
Strong knowledge of job costing, revenue recognition, and GAAP
Proficiency with
Oracle NetSuite , accounting software, and Microsoft Office
Excellent leadership, communication, prioritization, organization, and time management skills
