Join Our Team as a Neonatologist in Topeka, KS

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a full-time Neonatologist to join our 5-physician practice at a prominent healthcare facility in Topeka, Kansas. This opportunity offers a collaborative environment within a Level-III, 36-bed NICU, providing a comprehensive range of neonatal care. Located in the Midwest capital city of Kansas, Topeka boasts an affordable cost of living and a welcoming community.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide full-time coverage as a BC/BE Neonatologist.
  • Work a combination of 8 and 24-hour shifts on a rotating 7-week schedule, averaging approximately 170 hours per month of in-house coverage.
  • Manage in-house call responsibilities and provide backup call from home.
  • Deliver a full range of services in a well-equipped Level-III NICU.
  • Utilize advanced technologies such as high-frequency ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, total body cooling, and aEEG.
  • Oversee an average daily census of 26 patients with an annual admission rate of approximately 500.
  • Collaborate with pediatric subspecialty support in Cardiology, Neurology, General Surgery, and Endocrinology.
  • Maintain a high standard of care with a NICU that has held The Joint Commission Disease Specific Certification since 2012.
  • Open to new Fellow graduate candidates if already Board Certified in Pediatrics, and to J1 & H1B visa candidates.
Qualifications:
  • Board Certified in Pediatrics.
  • Truly Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
  • Kansas medical license (or willingness to obtain).
  • Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (active within 30 days).
  • Fellowship-trained in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (to be completed prior to start).
  • Clean malpractice and license history (highly preferred).
  • DEA certification (to be obtained prior to start).
License and Certification Requirements:
  • Must be Board Certified in Pediatrics.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine required.
  • A valid Kansas medical license is required or willingness to obtain one.
  • Must obtain DEA prior to employment commencement.
