What You'll Do
Directly supervise and coordinate activities of Area Mechanic craft workers
Must complete Pre-Job Briefings for all self-performed work
Manage personnel and equipment resources for work
Review and approve time records for direct reports
Required to provide management and oversight of maintenance activities for the organization
Must be able to effectively and efficiently communicate verbally and in written form
Specific tasks include management and oversight of:
Union craft pool
Schedule and assign jobs, working with planning and scheduling departments
Ensure the safe execution of work in the crafts group while meeting work schedules, quality standards, and adherence to department budget.
Extensive knowledge of fall protection and general Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) equipment
Waste removal and tracking
Provide technical guidance to the site, and resolve critical site issues
Knowledge of hazards associated with electrical work
Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Department of Energy (DOE) Order 426.2A Requirements: In addition to the above requirements, the applicant must also meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., High School diploma and 3 years nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE O 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. DOE O 426.2A)
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
Applicants without a Bachelor's Degree may be considered based on a combination of 13 years of completed education and/or relevant experience
Preferred Job Requirements
Executing corrective, predictive and preventive maintenance associated with Pantex Facilities
Working effectively with other team members
Completing written record of work performed
