The GATE Store Food Service Associate ensures customer service is the first priority for GATE operations by providing a friendly and efficient experience for our guests. Responsibilities include routine food preparation, customer assistance, inventory control, operating the register, and maintaining store cleanliness. The associate collaborates with the Store Kitchen Manager and Store Manager and assists in training new and existing team members on food preparation, customer service, and kitchen safety procedures. Requirements
Successfully complete a pre‑employment drug screening and background check. Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. Speak, read, write, and comprehend English sufficient to communicate effectively with customers and team members. Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills. Stand for extended periods of time. Lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds. Perform repetitive movements over long periods. Bend, kneel, stoop, and reach (including overhead). Work in a fast‑paced food service environment with exposure to heat, cold, and various kitchen equipment. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals for food service equipment. Possess basic mathematical knowledge. Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations. Strong customer service skills. Have knowledge of Food Safety. Duties and Functions
Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and split shifts. Arrive on time, maintain GATE uniform and appearance standards. Attend all required training, safety courses, and meetings. Prioritize GATE’s customers to ensure continued patronage. Greet customers and assist with product or service questions. Handle all payments following GATE policies. Contribute to a positive team environment. Communicate accurately and positively with customers and staff. Maintain or obtain Food Safety Certification. Keep a clean and well‑stocked store using organizational skills. Perform minor repairs and maintenance of store food equipment. Sanitize surfaces, store ingredients properly, and follow hygiene protocols. Clean restrooms, floors, windows, storage rooms, pumps, and registers. Follow all food safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and temperature control. Store and rotate ingredients to minimize waste and ensure freshness. Prepare made‑to‑order food items according to set menu, following recipes and portion guidelines. Accommodate customer requests for menu customizations while maintaining quality and consistency. Assist customers with menu choices and answer questions about ingredients and preparation methods. Ensure proper portion control and presentation of all food items.
