The department will also consider a Training and Development (T&D) assignment for purposes of recruitment. Under the general direction of the Compliance Unit Manager, a Staff Services Manager I, this position handles a wide variety of complex and analytical tasks related to the compliance review of registration and disclosure documents filed under the campaign and lobbying provisions of the Political Reform Act. The incumbent will develop expertise in identifying and assessing fines for late statements and assist with non-filer notifications. They will become a subject matter expert on portions of the Political Reform Act relevant to their work.
This position’s responsibilities include writing procedures, analyzing complex data, creating and presenting reports, training others, presenting to various audiences, improving workflow performance, and providing testing services. Additionally, the role involves logging, processing, and verifying data in the CAL-ACCESS database. The incumbent will receive on-the-job training to gain a comprehensive understanding of the laws, regulations, and terminology related to campaign filing requirements.
