Job Overview
This role will be based out of the Greater Houston Area (TX) however could require 90% travel to work in the Bay Area (CA) to support early builds and validation support for the first 6 to 12 months. Travel plans and reimbursement will follow Tesla's Travel Policy and will be governed by the direct manager.
Tesla is recruiting for a motivated and experienced Material Handling Supervisor to join our Team at the Megafactory. The successful candidate manages day‑to‑day inbound receiving, parts put‑away, material delivery to the line, and outbound functions while continuously ensuring the integrity of the inventory systems. Expectations include managing core KPI's, training and mentoring the team, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Supervisor works closely with Manufacturing and Material Planning to ensure continuous parts supply to production, to achieve zero downtime. In addition, the Supervisor collaborates with Material Flow Engineering, NPI, Quality, Supply Chain, and Logistics to ensure day‑to‑day success.

What You’ll Do
Supervise all aspects of material handling including receiving, conveyance and inventory management
Maintain a safe work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures
Maintain an organized parts supply warehouse or supermarket and ensure accurate system inventory
Manage the team to achieve corporate and department key performance indicators, including safety, 5S, labor hours, waste reduction, space utilization, downtime, and no part shortages to the line
Maintain accurate systems inventory and ensure transactional standards are met on time
Define material conveyance operational requirements, developing and updating process standards for conveyance or warehouse-related activities and driving solutions to daily problems
Support Material Flow Engineering to define and further develop lean manufacturing methods
What You’ll Bring
Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Lead in Material Handling, or be a current Supervisor
Relevant experience in manufacturing, supply chain, warehousing operations and/or material handling
Strong computer skills: ability to use, and train on warehouse management system software
Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to create and present reports
Ability to plan and organize people, operational needs, and projects where required
Understands lean manufacturing concepts; ability to lead 5S and continuous improvement
Excellent customer service skills, a positive mindset, and a sense‑of‑urgency attitude
