Immediate: Building Service Worker (Shift 2) – Seneca Valley HS
Under general supervision, performs building cleaning, facilities and grounds maintenance work in schools and administrative buildings. Entry-level position in building service staff. Employees receive on-the-job training in simple manual skills and use of cleaning and grounds tools and equipment, and supplies to clean interior and maintain grounds.
Responsibilities
Clean interior of buildings and maintain grounds.
Move or lift furniture and equipment up to 50 lbs.
Respond to emergency personnel duties, reporting to buildings during inclement weather and other locations.
May be required for frequent overtime or night work.
Maintain current working telephone number and update as required.
Wear provided uniforms and proper attire.
Special Requirements Physical demands: sufficient strength to lift and move heavy objects (minimum 50 lbs.) and perform manual labor. Consideration of accident and injury hazards and exposure to disagreeable elements.
Job Specific Information Shift: 2:30 – 11:00 PM. Wage range: $21.10 – $30.10 per hour. Some knowledge of building and grounds work methods, materials, and practices.
Ability to learn to operate and maintain custodial and grounds care equipment.
Ability to use approved cleaning supplies and chemicals.
Ability to monitor building spaces and grounds for safety.
Basic knowledge of emergency facility response procedures.
Ability to comprehend and follow instructions and communicate with customers.
Knowledge and ability to meet the seven core competencies of the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS).
Education, Training, Experience
Completion of the ninth grade required.
High School or GED diploma preferred.
Experience in general cleaning of buildings and grounds.
Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience may be considered.
