Overview
Building Services / Custodial – Entry level – Full-time – 12 months – Day Job – Primary Location: Silver Spring – Shift: 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM with 30‑minute unpaid lunch.
Responsibilities
Perform interior building cleaning and exterior grounds maintenance in schools and administrative buildings.
Operate custodial and groundscare equipment safely and clean with approved chemicals.
Move and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and furniture during routine tasks.
Report to facilities during inclement weather and assist in emergency situations as an emergency personnel member.
Maintain proper uniform and safety attire at all times.
Qualifications
Completion of ninth grade required; high school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience in general building and grounds cleaning preferred.
Knowledge of building and grounds work methods, materials, and practices.
Basic knowledge of emergency facility response procedures.
Ability to follow instructions, communicate with customers, and monitor building spaces for safety.
Shift & Salary Wage range $20.00 – $28.53 per hour. Shift 8.5 hours with 30‑minute unpaid lunch. 12‑month full‑time position.
