About the role Are you passionate about public service and interested in being part of one of California’s largest financial systems? We’re looking for an Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) to join our General Ledger Unit at FI$Cal. In this key role you’ll support departments that use the FI$Cal system by serving as an SME in General Ledger accounting. You’ll solve problems, research and resolve system issues, manage change requests, and provide Level 2 functional support to end users.
Responsibilities
Provide Level 2 functional support for General Ledger accounting within the FI$Cal system.
Research and resolve system issues and manage change requests.
Collaborate with internal teams and cross‑functional partners such as IT and business operations.
Assist with month‑end and year‑end close activities where required.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications as defined in the Class Specification (see attached Duty Statement).
Experience in General Ledger accounting, including ledger/fund reconciliation.
Knowledge of the FI$Cal system and experience with month‑end/year‑end close.
Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Must take and pass the examination to be class listed.
Special Requirements
Background investigation required, cleared prior to hiring.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. at all times.
Resume optional but may be submitted.
Must be able to perform prolonged sitting in an office setting and operate a personal computer.
Compliance with discrimination and harassment policies.
Relocation and commute expenses are employee responsibility.
No visa sponsorship, no E‑Verify employment verification, no participation in STEM OPT extension program.
Working Conditions Remote‑centered position with flexibility of telework up to three days per week; in‑office attendance mandatory on designated days. Work environment is a typical office setting.
