As a Shipping Supervisor, you’re leading the charge—guiding your team, tackling challenges, and keeping operations moving faster than a superhero on roller skates. Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee specific areas of the shipping process, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to company standards
Support team members in performing shipping tasks such as picking and packing
Work closely with other Shipping Supervisors and Shipping Manager to ensure smooth and efficient operations, including resource allocation and workflow optimization
Analyze current operation and identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cultivating innovation from team
Drive engagement by creating an environment where people are motivated to do their best
Maintain, promote, and enforce cleanliness and organization of department
Implement and enforce quality control measures
Monitor and track KPIs, and take corrective action as needed to meet department goals and targets
Work with other departments, such as Customer Service and Global Logistics, to resolve shipping-related issues.
Ensure proper functioning of equipment necessary to fulfillment process, enter tickets as necessary.
Project and plan workload and labor needs for areas responsible, create and maintain employee schedules.
Requirements
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Lead a team of warehouse associates in the assigned areas of the department, providing guidance, training, and support
Allocate tasks and responsibilities, ensuring equitable distribution of workload.
Conduct status meetings and regular performance evaluations and provide feedback that is consistent to team members to support their professional development.
Address any performance issues or conflicts with the team promptly and effectively, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate schedules and coverage to meet operational needs.
Minimum Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma
1-3 years of leadership experience in a warehouse environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve goals and exceed expectations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively provide information and actively listen to and consider input from others.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and employees across departments and foster a collaborative work environment
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and collaboration
