Industrial Controls Maintenance Electrician
Base pay range: $30.00/hr - $35.00/hr
Day in the life When production ramps up, you bring critical systems online safely and shut them down just as carefully at the close. You make routine rounds to visually inspect and test electrical machinery and equipment, and you carry out scheduled preventive maintenance to check, clean, and repair assets before small issues become downtime.
What you will do
Plan and complete scheduled preventive maintenance, including checking, cleaning, and repairing equipment to detect and prevent problems.
Perform start up and shut down of equipment in line with operational needs and company safety procedures.
Visually inspect and test electrical machinery and equipment to verify condition and performance.
Disassemble and inspect electrical machinery; replace defective electrical parts and reassemble to specification.
Lay out, assemble, install, test, repair, and adjust electrical fixtures, apparatuses, equipment, and wiring, including panels and breakers.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial control systems, covering instrumentation and power distribution equipment.
Perform PLC programming and troubleshooting and maintain accurate program documentation.
Review work orders and collaborate with equipment operators to identify and confirm equipment problems.
Read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, sketches, schematics, engineering specifications, and work orders to execute maintenance and service.
Apply electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, and principles of operation for electrical equipment to all tasks.
Work within a team, following guidance from senior colleagues and assisting junior team members with routine questions.
Adhere to safety rules, including live panel permits, arc flash safety, NEC codes, and other safety rules governing the electrical trade.
Follow operations and company safety procedures and practices at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned.
