ServiceNow Architect (SPM / PPM Specialist)

Role Overview State of Texas is seeking a highly experienced ServiceNow Architect to lead the design, architecture, and implementation of ServiceNow platforms with a strong focus on Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) and Project Portfolio Management (PPM). This role requires a true architect-level professional, not a developer or administrator, with proven experience designing large-scale ServiceNow solutions in complex enterprise and regulatory environments.
Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end ServiceNow architecture, design, implementation, and platform integrity
Provide High-Level Designs (HLD) and technical specifications for ServiceNow solutions
Lead hands‑on configuration, customization, development, and integrations
Serve as a technical authority and quality gate for all ServiceNow deliverables
Design and Implementation Responsibilities
ServiceNow application modules
Integrations with third‑party enterprise systems (e.g., Azure Active Directory)
ITIL / ITSM process automation
User provisioning integrated with internal and external systems
ServiceNow security architecture
Architect integrations with custom‑built, COTS, and SaaS applications
Participate in process flow analysis and redesign in collaboration with Project Managers
Work closely with business stakeholders to enhance operational workflows using ServiceNow
Ensure cross‑module configurations do not negatively impact platform performance
Understand and leverage ServiceNow table structures and data models
Share best practices and provide consultative guidance throughout the project lifecycle
Collaborate effectively with remote teams
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must be a ServiceNow Architect with enterprise‑scale implementation experience
SPM / PPM module implementation – MUST
Minimum 5+ years hands‑on SPM/PPM implementation experience
Extensive experience across ITBM, ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, IRM, SecOps, DevOps, Change Management
Strong hands‑on expertise in ServiceNow configuration, development, and integrations
Experience architecting inbound/outbound integrations using Azure AD, SSO / Trusted Sources, MID Server, REST / SOAP Web Services, email integrations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive‑level presentations, technical leadership, mentoring junior team members
Strong background in technical documentation (architecture, design, implementation, configuration), core ITSM process implementations
ServiceNow System Administrator and/or Implementation Specialist Certification
Technical knowledge in Java, JavaScript, SQL is highly desirable
