Position title:
Assistant Director of Nursing - RN
Requirements: 1. Must be a qualified Registered Nurse, licensed to practice nursing in Oklahoma.
2. Must be physically and mentally capable of performing the duties required.
3. Should have at least three years of experience in a hospital or long-term care facility and have training in rehabilitation or geriatric care.
4. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
5. Must be willing to work some weekends and some holidays.
Supervisory Controls: Reports to the Director of Nursing.
Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Assists the DON in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the department operations, per current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern long-term care.
2. Participates in surveys/inspections made by authorized government agencies or as requested by the DON or Administrator.
3. Performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary. Will gather needed records for medical records request and ensure medical records are filed correctly after resident discharge.
4. Serves on and participates in pharmaceutical, budget, quality assurance committee, and other committees as directed.
5. Responsible for Admissions. Ensures nurse team has needed forms and labels. Performs all tracking, updating, admitting, discharge, and daily census data and maintains marketing database.
6. Prepares monthly marketing reports, responds to customer questions or requests, and manages marketing and contracting materials and marketing events.
7. Provides guided tours, coordinates activities related to the move-in process, and tracks census and waiting list.
8. Responsible for the Infection Control program and will serve as Infection Control Nurse. Performs Infection Control duties to include but not limited to Covid tracking, TB tests, reporting, and tracking.
9. Delegates administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for staff to perform assigned duties. Ensures policies and procedures are administered fairly and consistently.
10. Makes daily rounds on the nursing units to observe residents and ensure that all nursing personnel are meeting the needs of the residents and performing their work assignments following acceptable work practices.
11. Develops and maintains a good rapport with all services involved with the care plan team to ensure that a team effort is achieved in developing the resident’s comprehensive care plan. Acts as a resource for MDS, care planning, and quality assurance issues.

The following duties may be included in the work schedule for this position:
Giving and receiving the daily reports; preparing nurse’s aide assignments; preparing, passing, and charting medications; administering treatments; taking vital signs, making rounds; charting proper nursing notes; admitting and discharging residents; implementing emergency procedures; implementing nursing care plans; utilization of medical records system, and other duties outlined by Zarrow Pointes’ Health Care Center’s policies and procedures manual.
This job may also include lifting 50 pounds, positioning, bathing, dressing, feeding, providing personal care (hair, skin, dentures, oral hygiene, nails, etc.) to residents, and changing and making beds.
