The
Systems Engineer II
position will be part of a team responsible for
server, cloud, automation, and systems infrastructure
in a
24×7 environment . Primary duties include, but are not limited to, maintaining production, disaster recovery, regional office and cloud environments; supporting existing server and automation platforms; advancing current technologies; integrating new solutions; and collaborating with other technical and business teams to develop enterprise-ready systems architectures.
The candidate must volunteer ideas, share technical knowledge, closely collaborate with other teams, and participate in cross-training activities. Systems Engineer II is expected to define and deliver complex IT work products at agreed deadlines and resolve issues professionally, efficiently, and in accordance with established corporate standards and procedures.
Responsibilities
Analyze business and technical requirements to design, implement, and maintain server and cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS, VMWare, Windows Server, and RHEL environments.
Deploy, configure, and manage AWS components, including EC2, IAM, VPC, Security Groups, CloudWatch, S3, and backup/recovery services.
Administer, patch, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Server platforms, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP and file services technologies.
Administer, patch, and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems including SELinux, systemd, LVM, network services, kernel modules, and OS level security hardening.
Automate configuration management, deployments, and server orchestration using Ansible, including the creation and maintenance of playbooks, roles, inventories, and CI/CD pipeline integrations.
Integrate and utilize AI-based operational tools (e.g., automated monitoring, LLM-driven analysis, remediation assistants) to streamline operational efficiency and reduce MTTD/MTTR.
Configure, maintain, and leverage Nagios XI for infrastructure monitoring, alerting, health checks, and system visibility across Linux, Windows, and cloud environments.
Deploy, administer, and optimize VMware virtualization environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, resource pools, templates, snapshots, virtual networking, and general lifecycle management.
Administer and manage Microsoft Entra services, including identity lifecycle management, conditional access, MFA, SSO integrations, user/device identity security, and application identity governance across hybrid environments.
Configure, operate, and manage Dell EMC Avamar and Data Domain backup solutions, including backup job creation, policy management, replication, retention configuration, restore operations, health monitoring, and capacity planning for enterprise data protection.
Support infrastructure within hybrid cloud and multi-region deployments, including automation of provisioning and scaling workflows.
Participate in the design and execution of system lifecycle projects, including upgrades, migrations, cloud adoption initiatives, and security enhancements.
Monitor system health, performance, capacity across cloud and on-prem environments, and execute proactive remediation.
Develop and maintain system documentation, runbooks, standards, and diagrams for cloud, server, and automation components.
Collaborate with network, application, DevOps, and security teams to deliver reliable and scalable enterprise solutions.
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours critical support.
Skills / Qualifications
5+ years of experience in systems engineering across Linux, Windows, and cloud environments.
Hands‑on AWS experience with focus on EC2, security groups, resilience, and access control.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server, including AD, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, patching, and server virtualization.
Strong proficiency with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including system administration, tuning, and OS security.
Ansible experience with automation of server builds, patching, configuration management, and application deployments.
Experience integrating or operating AI‑based operational tools, AIOps platforms, or intelligent monitoring/alerting systems.
Solid understanding of hybrid cloud architecture, infrastructure‑as‑code, and modern operational workflows.
Experience with VMware or other virtualization/hypervisor platforms.
Experience with Dell EMC Avamar and Data Domain system and data backup solutions, or other similar enterprise solutions.
Strong security mindset with experience in patching, hardening, identity management, and access control.
Excellent analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work across teams.
Ability to organize daily tasks independently and prioritize project work effectively.
