Job Information Full‑time; Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm (alternate schedule may be available). Location: 2010 N Interstate Ave, Portland, OR 97227. The position may be eligible for hybrid work status after probation, requiring the employee to be in the office 50 % of the time.

Responsibilities

Oversee the laboratory’s Quality System and act as the primary QA/QC contact.

Review and manage quality control data, SOPs, and the Quality Manual.

Ensure compliance with TNI standards, 40 CFR Part 141, the 2005 Drinking Water Certification Manual, and Standard Methods.

Maintain training records (iDOC/DOC), LOQ/MDL documentation, certifications, and corrective actions.

Conduct internal audits and coordinate proficiency testing for ORELAP accreditation.

Provide customer support for laboratory data users, validate sample results, and investigate technical concerns.

Serve as laboratory representative in designing, implementing, and maintaining information systems and related software.

Qualifications

Degree in chemistry, environmental science, biology, microbiology, or a related field.

Four to six years of progressively responsible analytical laboratory experience (or equivalent).

Experience applying chemical and microbiology protocols, Standard Methods, EPA Methods, and NELAP/ORELAP requirements.

Experience applying QA/QC principles to inorganic and organic chemistry, microbiology, and quantitative analysis, with adherence to EPA, TNI, and accreditation programs.

Experience coordinating QA/QC activities, reviewing QC data, SOPs, proficiency testing, and laboratory certifications.

Experience initiating and tracking corrective actions, conducting internal audits, responding to technical questions, and managing sample custody procedures.

Experience providing customer service to laboratory data users, reviewing analytical results, and ensuring data accuracy in LIMS.
