Job Summary Coordinates functions and activities in the foodservice area of responsibility. Takes personal responsibility for creating a positive work group experience. Ability to work as a Nutrition & Food Services Assistant, based on the needs of the department. Completes any data required for financial and productivity reporting, as appropriate. Maintains responsible area in an orderly, safe and sanitary condition according to Hazard Critical Control Points (HACCP) and county Health Dept. guidelines.
Focus is on supervising Patient Meals Assembly / Tray Line Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions include ensuring safety, hygiene, temperature monitoring, equipment safety, positive service outcomes, world class work environment, leadership collaboration, respectful communication, cultural respect, and employee concern resolution.
Responsibilities
Ensures the Safety of Customers and Team Members according to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and county Health Dept. Guidelines.
Ensures that employees' hands are frequently washed and gloves are appropriately worn.
Upholds infection prevention practices, including employees' personal hygiene expectations (i.e., fingernail length and finish) and corrects any potential risks.
Ensures all work areas are maintained in a clean and organized manner; free of spills and fall hazards.
Ensures that employees monitor and record food and/or equipment temperatures. Follows up with employees when the "out of range" issues are escalated.
Ensures that employees store food and/or supplies using proper labeling, dating and rotation methods.
Ensures that employees operate equipment according to all safety guidelines. Follows up with employees when the issues have been escalated as to a resolution (i.e., frayed electrical cords have been replaced).
Ensures Positive Service Outcomes.
Ensures that the work group sets up, maintains and breaks down workstations according to area requirements.
Ensures that each employee follows written and verbal instructions and station responsibilities with accuracy and attention to detail.
Ensures the completion of area checklists and forms. Holds employees accountable for completion in real-time.
Ensures that employees operate and care for equipment according to manufacturer's and area specific guidelines.
Remains flexible to support leadership and other team members across the department to achieve desired service outcomes.
Engages in Efforts to Create a World Class Work Environment.
Ensures that employees follow work area's uniform specifications, i.e., clothing and shoes are neat and clean and takes immediate corrective action when not in compliance.
Collaborates with team members and Leadership to meet the goals and objectives of the Department and Hospital.
Communicates in a respectful manner and in terms that are clear and concise.
Respects the cultural traditions of team members and customers.
Resolves employee concerns and/or escalates to management.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Qualifications Required Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Required Minimum Experience
Minimum 2 years of related work experience required; preferably related foodservice experience.
Supervisory experience highly preferred.
Required Minimum Skills
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Ability to understand therapeutic diets.
Basic math and computer skills.
Displays a positive attitude under stressful conditions.
