Purpose of the role
The Sr. Planner is responsible for understanding the scope of work provided by the client and creating the program work packages. The Sr. Planner will also prepare tactical schedules, establish work paths, monitor work in progress to identify possible schedule impact and plan accordingly for upcoming maintenance events. This position acts as the subject matter expert (SME) for Jr. Planner Aircraft Services team members to provide support and guidance to resolve complex planning tasks and/or projects. Here are the daily responsibilities of a Sr. Planner Aircraft Services
Responsible for researching and administering aircraft maintenance programs Determine tactical scope, activities and critical paths for aircraft maintenance tasks Responsible for the assembly of aircraft work packages around a critical path in an efficient manner including identification of technical documentation prior to scheduled induction Define flow charts and timeline by identifying the time, resources and materials required for aircraft maintenance tasks Maintain and assist in development of aircraft model specific technical information, for example airframe, engine, avionics, and paint / interior Monitor maintenance progress and ensure that it is carried out according to the plan Perform analytical reviews of historical data and prepare detailed reports Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all maintenance activities are compliant with regulations and meet standards and expectations Address and resolve discrepancies during the planning and execution phases Monitor aircraft work in progress for adjustments to delivery schedule and communicate impact as necessary to appropriate stakeholders. Act as a point of contact for external customers, addressing concerns and communicating updates effectively Support the continuous improvement of maintenance planning processes Input data into all systems as required May develop new projects, establish new standards and optimize processes Additional duties as assigned Here is what is required to succeed
5 years of experience in project management, planning environment in a heavy industrial or manufacturing industry, 7 years preferred; or Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related technical field, 7 years preferred Intermediate knowledge of MS office (specifically excel), databases and maintenance planning software Demonstrated ability to understand project layers, mapping and flow of a project within a multiple project setting with rapidly changing priorities Strong understanding of aircraft systems and maintenance processes A&P License (preferred) Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred) We put safety first
