The Maintenance Mechanic repairs machinery or mechanical equipment at CMI’s customer site in Kearneysville, WV.
Key Job Functions
Manages individual work reception, planning, and completion, reporting back to the Facilities Manager as necessary
Repair or replace parts as needed to maintain buildings, equipment, and furnishings in all aspects of facility maintenance
Have knowledge of and be able to work from drawings, schematics, models, blueprints, and/or by verbal instructions for completing task assigned
Utilize proper safety equipment and be willing to work in environments with dust, dirt, sharp objects, fumes, etc.
Have knowledge of and utilize hand tools, small power tools and man lift equipment to complete task
Properly maintain, clean, and care for tools and equipment as well as maintaining a clean work area
Perform duties from elevated equipment to include ladders (step or extension), telescoping or scissor lifts, scaffolding and platforms
Perform routine preventative maintenance on building equipment/furnishings in accordance with the manufacturer’s operation manuals
Complete documentation on work projects to include material requests, work orders, etc
High School Degree or Equivalent
At least four (4) years of experience (within the past seven (7) years) providing maintenance mechanic services within a federal facility
Journeyman experience
in at least two (2) of the following trade and knowledge of the remaining trades:
1. Operating/adjusting building HVAC systems for efficiency and comfort
2. Maintaining/troubleshooting/repairing the following systems/equipment:
a. Chillers and chilled water systems
b. Building HVAC equipment
c. Boilers and hot water heating systems
d. Domestic water and plumbing systems
e. Electrical systems including lighting, motors, starters, contactors, etc
Experience in repair and operation of complex buildings equipment and systems such as performed by a stationary engineer, air conditioning equipment mechanic, maintenance electrician/plumber/pipe fitter
Must be proficient in the trades with experience working or equivalent training in general maintenance services
Must follow all safety standards at all times and report any unsafe condition to the Facilities Manager
