LVT I – 24/7 Care, PRN (Part‑time)

Job Summary The Intermediate Care LVT is responsible for providing 24‑hour nursing care to patients recovering from surgery or illness and preparing them for discharge. Duties include medication administration, vital sign monitoring, sample collection, and patient management in a 24/7 care setting.
Responsibilities
Patient management: manage all aspects of treatment and care; notify attending clinician of any change in a patient’s condition in a timely manner.
Provide intermediate animal care: walk, water, feed, transport, restrain, groom.
Administer medication, monitor vital signs, and take samples of bodily fluids (blood or urine).
Maintain clinical records via written chart recording and input of charges into proprietary software.
Stock supplies of cleaning products and patient care equipment; keep facility clean and sanitize cages and floors.
Qualifications
Licensed Veterinary Technician in Georgia or able to obtain license.
Minimum of a two‑year degree, apprenticeship, or professional certificate.
Experience in Small Animal Emergency, ICU, or Intermediate Care.
Preferred experience with infectious disease care within an isolation unit.
Ability to work weekends, overnight shifts, and holidays.
Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; work on hard floor surfaces.
Work Conditions Part‑time PRN shifts within the 24/7 Care Area. Position of trust, no driving responsibility, and security access required.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly rate: $17.78 plus shift differentials.
Non‑benefits eligible.
Schedule PRN shifts. Time distribution: 50% patient management, 40% record keeping, 10% stocking/cleaning.
