Job Overview
The Mainframe Computer Operator is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and supporting a wide range of batch jobs running on MVS/OS390 systems. This role requires strong problem‑solving skills, experience with JCL, and the ability to work across both mainframe and client/server environments.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor batch workloads on the mainframe, ensuring successful job completion across complex job flows.
Troubleshoot and resolve job abends, including reviewing or modifying JCL as needed.
Perform scheduling tasks and job submissions for developers and end users.
Utilize scheduling tools—preferably ControlM—to manage job runs, dependencies, and workflows.
Serve as a liaison between technical developers and production support teams.
Operate effectively across Acceptance and Production environments.
Document incidents and problem resolutions using Tivoli tools.
Create, modify, and review job documentation and ensure accuracy of operational procedures.
Perform functional testing and create ChangeMan packages for mainframe deployments.
Maintain AJS best practices and perform QA checks to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Participate in SUITES/CEDARS meetings as required.
Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to other staff members.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience as a Mainframe Computer Operator in MVS/OS390 environments.
Strong knowledge of JCL, SDSF, TSO, and related mainframe utilities.
Familiarity with scheduling tools such as ControlM or equivalent platforms.
Ability to analyze complex scheduling flows and identify issues or risks.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when needed.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
High level of dependability, attention to detail, and a positive, proactive mindset.
Ability and desire to learn all aspects of CPS production operations.

Scheduling/Monitoring: ControlM, Argent (AJS), Tivoli
Workstation/Client Systems: Thin Client, MS Office products

Wednesday‑Friday: 1:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Saturday: 5:30 PM – 6:30 AM
