Full‑time, contract‑covered, FLSA non‑exempt
Job Description The Iowa Judicial Branch is seeking two Judicial Operations Clerks to provide clerical support and customer service that enable efficient court operations and uphold the integrity of court records.
Key Responsibilities
Process case‑related documents—including orders, warrants, applications, motions, complaints, bonds, exhibits, and other official case and court‑related documents and media—to support accurate records and efficient court operations.
Provide customer service to court users in person and over the phone, assisting with general requests, processing and recording payments, and answering case‑processing questions or providing copies.
Support attorneys, judges, law enforcement, and other agencies in case information and processing.
Occasionally support courtroom operations such as jury trials and proceedings, including electronic device setup and digital recording management.
Perform basic bookkeeping and cashier duties.
Assist with electronic and paper filing, review and publish materials for accuracy and completeness.
Provide office support, maintaining organization, equipment, and supplies.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Understanding of court operations support, record keeping, and filing.
Basic computer database, software, and math skills.
Ability to secure confidential data and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Reliable transportation and ability to travel within the judicial district.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
One (1) year of customer service experience. (Educational credentials cannot substitute for experience.)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with court or legal process or terminology.
Experience with accurate record keeping.
Basic cashier or bookkeeping experience.
Experience securing confidential information.

$21.42 – $33.86 per hour (base salary at the lower end of the range; adjustments for relevant experience possible).
