The primary objective of the Business Analyst is to support healthcare revenue cycle operations by translating business needs into accurate, actionable data insights. This role is responsible for understanding end‑to‑end RCM workflows, navigating multiple source systems, and extracting relevant data to support operational, financial, and compliance‑related decision‑making.

The Business Analyst partners closely with business users, operational leaders, and analytics teams to gather requirements, validate outputs, and deliver reporting and analysis that support day‑to‑day operations and long‑term performance improvement. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, rigorous validation practices, and thorough documentation. The Business Analyst may also be responsible for creating and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to reporting, metrics, and data usage.

This position primarily supports Nimble’s coding, managed care, out‑of‑network, and credentialing lines of business, with a focus on claim lifecycle visibility, productivity, financial outcomes, and operational efficiency.

The Business Analyst plays a key role in enabling revenue cycle transparency and performance improvement by delivering timely, accurate data and analysis. Core responsibilities include:

Extracting, analyzing, and delivering operational and financial data to support revenue cycle functions such as coding, billing, follow‑up, managed care, out‑of‑network recovery, and credentialing

Partnering with business stakeholders to gather, document, and clarify reporting and analytics requirements, serving as a primary point of contact for data‑related questions, issues, and escalations

Developing and maintaining standardized reports, dashboards, and recurring deliverables that support productivity tracking, backlog management, aging analysis, denial trends, and financial performance

Ensuring data integrity through validation, reconciliation, and quality checks, with an understanding of downstream impacts to financial reporting and operational decision‑making

Supporting ongoing enhancements to reporting and analytics solutions to improve clarity, usability, and alignment with evolving revenue cycle workflows

Providing business and operational context during the design, implementation, and maintenance of analytics and data integration initiatives

Creating and maintaining clear documentation, including business requirements, metric definitions, data logic, and SOPs, to support consistency and knowledge transfer

Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to align data outputs with operational goals, regulatory requirements, and client expectations

Supporting project‑based initiatives and ad hoc analyses related to revenue cycle performance, operational efficiency, and process improvement

Requirements Who you are:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, including familiarity with coding, billing, follow‑up, managed care, out‑of‑network, and/or credentialing workflows

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational and financial data related to claims, encounters, payments, denials, and productivity

Proficiency in data extraction, manipulation, and analysis using tools such as Microsoft Excel and similar analytical platforms.

Demonstrated ability to gather and document business requirements and translate them into clear, actionable reporting solutions

Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, validation, and consistency

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain data concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences

Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs in a fast‑paced healthcare environment

Experience creating documentation and SOPs related to reporting, metrics, and operational processes is a plus
