Responsibilities Prepare and finalize monthly and annual income statements, balance sheets. Document, evaluate and create accounting procedures. Perform general accounting, account for fixed assets, and perform trend analysis as required. Demonstrate initiative in understanding process flows and controls and general accounting principles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Individual must be able to successfully perform each of the essential functions of this position listed below with or without reasonable accommodation.
Produce monthly profit and loss statements.
Oversee Accounts Receivable and ensure timely closing of account balances
Support hospitality operations team to maintain planned budgeted expenses.
Review, and post monthly adjusting journal entries.
Review daily bank, merchant and investment reconciliations.
Reconcile, adjust and maintain Balance Sheet accounts, including prepaid expenses, petty cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll related payables.
Responsible for payroll monthly journal entries and reconciling monthly reports.
Responsible for the coding and submission of all Accounting invoices.
Assist with annual budget development and forecasting for all hospitality entities.
Submit end of month financials, budgets and reports as needed to KTTT Assistant Controller, Controller, or CFO.
Assist with documentation requests for KTTT audits.
Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
Ability to exercise independent and sound judgment.
Ability to manage and maintain security of confidential data and information.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal direction.
Ability to use computer applications, adding machine and telephone.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Cultural awareness of and sensitivity to Kickapoo traditions, religious beliefs and way of life.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English, and communicate effectively with others.
Ability to perform simple arithmetic for accounting and other calculations.
Must be very detail oriented, possess excellent follow through, and possess ability to multi-task.
Must possess knowledge and proficiency of Finance/Accounting Principles.
Possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
Supervision Exercised This position does carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Education/Experience Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university in accounting and at least two (2) years previous general ledger accounting, financial reporting experience or at least five (5) years of previous general ledger accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, in a business or hospitality environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in hospitality is preferred
