Overview The OHSE Manager provides leadership in safety, environmental, health. management to ensure compliance with regulations and corporate standards. This role collaborates with plant leadership to implement and monitor EHS initiatives, fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

What you will be doing

Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS):

Implement and maintain EHS policies, ensuring compliance with regulations and corporate standards.

Identify and assess workplace risks, developing appropriate preventive measures.

Lead management of change processes and oversee contractor safety compliance.

Review and analyze incident reports to determine trends and focus areas.

Maintain knowledge of OSHA and EHS regulations, coordinating OSHA 300 log updates and submissions.

Act as the primary liaison for external audits, including OSHA and environmental inspections.

Conduct safety audits and promote safe behaviors through coaching and mentoring.

Develop and oversee the annual safety budget, ensuring effective resource allocation.

Manage and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.

Support leadership in developing job training programs focused on safety and compliance.

Implement employee safety recognition programs and track site safety incentives.

Ensure compliance with environmental permits and reporting requirements.

Lead the plant’s safety committee and communicate EHS updates internally and externally.

Conduct training programs to standardize Health & Safety expectations across teams.

Lead Safety meetings and drive initiatives to enhance safety awareness.

Drive OHSE culture within plant to achieve and sustain “Zero Injuries”.

Drive all aspects of Health and Safety and Environmental standards and performance on site.

Practices and ensuring active exchange of Best Practice between other plants.

Provide monthly accident and statistics and all other relevant KPI`s.

Planning and supervising of safety measures.

Auditing own plant with respect to OHSE requirements.

Maintain Integrated Management System regarding OHSE including external yearly certifications.

Monitoring and plotting of OHSE incidents including analysing and defining of proper measures.

Training and supervising of contractors and updating of contractor policies regarding OHSE.

Perform and train co-workers in risk assessment process.

Define and develop Standard Operation procedures for all relevant tasks and processes.

Establish and maintain an effective relationship with employees, employees’ representatives and external partners eg. Governments, insurers, plant doctor as well as communities.

Ensure compliance with local statutory regulations and AFEMEA requirements, standards.

Provide directions for effective implementation of fire safety instructions and initiatives such as ATEX and fire protection systems – support and drive effective prevention program which leads in zero fire losses.

What you must have:

Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS compliance.

Experience in risk assessment, safety training.

Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to Safety.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

5 Years in a Health & Safety Management Role or 10 Year as Safety coordinator.

Preferred Education

Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred) in: Occupational Health & Safety

Environmental Science/Engineering

Industrial Engineering

Chemical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

Relevant Certifications

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) – Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP)

Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) – BCSP

Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is a +

OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification – Occupational safety and compliance training

Additional Skills or Training Desired

Proficiency in incident investigation, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance

Familiarity with EPA, OSHA, and ISO 14001 standards
